Join the UK Powerboating Club for a full day on the water, cruising a 60nm Solent course with card stops, a lunch stop with the option to fuel up, and a great social finish
What to expect
Your day starts at Hamble Point Marina, where you’ll check in, join the safety briefing, and get ready for departure. From there, crews head out on a planned route around the Solent, collecting cards at key stops to build their poker hand. The course is around 60nm, with a lunch stop built in so crews can relax, refuel if needed, and enjoy the middle of the day before heading back for the final leg
the fleet comes together for the BBQ, prize-giving, and afterparty. It’s a brilliant mix of boating, competition, and socialising — and one of the highlights of the UKPC calendar
After you collect your final card, the fleet heads to a sheltered anchorage where boats raft-up. The lead vessel becomes the entertainment hub with a professional DJ and sound system, setting the soundtrack as the sun drops over the Solent
Dance on deck, swim off the transom, or simply relax with a drink while you wait for the winning poker hand to be revealed. It’s the perfect finale to a full day adventure shared with like minded skippers and crews
All powered boat owners; RIBs, small cruisers, and medium yachts are welcome! Regardless of experience, anyone with a seaworthy vessel, appropriate insurance, and the required safety equipment can join.
At each checkpoint, crews draw a playing card. At the final stop, everyone reveals their hand and the best standard poker hand wins a cash prize, no skill or boating speed required, just luck and participation!
All standard packages include poker run entry, BBQ lunch, mooring at the lunch stop, professional event management, live DJ party, and participation in the charity fundraiser. Premium and Elite packages add champagne, gourmet food, and exclusive gifts.
No. The poker run is a luck-based social event; the best poker hand wins, not the fastest boat! The focus is on enjoyment, charity fundraising, and connection, not racing.
All net proceeds from the event’s gaming fees and donations support the RNLI, the UK’s leading maritime lifesaving charity, helping save lives at sea and providing vital safety education.
